Greetings from Casablanca, Morocco! part 1.

Oh, yes! I like Casablanca! A lot! :)
The Hassan II Mosque (Arabic: مسجد الحسن الثاني‎) is Casablanca's landmark.
The mosque is beautiful and HUGE!

Wikipedia: "The Hassan II Mosque (Arabic: مسجد الحسن الثاني‎), located in Casablanca is the largest mosque in Morocco and the third largest mosque in the world after the Masjid al-Haram (Grand Mosque) of Mecca and the Al-Masjid al-Nabawi (Prophet's Mosque) in Medina. Designed by the French architect Michel Pinseau and built by Bouygues.[1] It stands on a promontory looking out to the Atlantic, which can be seen through a gigantic glass floor with room for 25,000 worshippers. A further 80,000 can be accommodated in the mosque's adjoining grounds for a total of 105,000 worshippers present at any given time at the Hassan II mosque.
Its minaret is the world's tallest at 210 m (689 ft).[2]"

Shot from our hotel balcony...

Wikipedia: "The Casablanca Twin Center (Arabic: برجي الدار البيضاء‎) (French: Tours Jumelles de Casablanca) is a complex of two skyscrapers located at Casablanca, Morocco. The two structures,
the West Tower and the East Tower have 28 floors each."
Streets are clean...

and there are a lot of beautiful trees and
pavements where you can WALK!

More pics coming soon!

  3. Kaunista ja ihmeellisen hiljaisen oloista. Kyllä noita puureunusteisia katuja varmasti kelpaa tepastella!

  11. Nice to see photos from Casa. I was there when they had just started to build that big mosque.
I've been twice in Casa, and also in Tanger and other towns. Liked Morocco a lot!

  12. Really great shots. BLOGitse, I'm not sure how they chose the flags featured in my post today but I suspect it might have had something to do with the backgrounds of the students at the school. I know there are plenty of people with a Scandinavian background in Sydney but maybe not too many of them in this area.

  13. love, Love, LOVE these Superior Snaps! I visited Morocco once, but went to Marrakesh. I'll bet Casablanca didn't look like this in Bogart's day, huh?

    >>Vilijonkka
Kylla Casa onkin hiljainen Kairoon verrattuna!

    >>Taru
    Wau - sita minakin! :)

    >>Linda
And I can't wait for taking more pics! :)
The Mosque is much bigger than I thought. I'm going to visit there more than once! :)

    >>Gena @ Thinking Aloud
We visited only for a weekend. We took our personal things to a friend's place because we're going to stay in a hotel until we find a
place to live...Moving to Casa 31.3.!
Is your friend in Casa, Agadir or Marrakech? or all of them?

    >>Lucy Corrander
Why don't you like Casa - have you been there? just curious...

    >>Ballerina Girl
There are really beautiful areas in Casa. My favourite is the Atlantic Ocean! :)
I've missed the sea for two years...

    >>tuuluska
    Yes, we're back in Cairo.
    We're moving to Casa 31.3.
The trees are cut like that. I think they're artistic :)

    >>NicoleB
It's amazing how clean it was in Casa! And there are pavements - I can walk again! :)
Plus the traffic is not that bad...and there are traffic lights! :)

    >>SmartBear
I've never been to Morocco before. I was positively surprised.
    Lots of traveling ahead...Marrakech etc.

    >>SusuPetal
You never came to Cairo while we were here. Maybe you'll visit Casa?

    >>J Bar
You might be right because there were many other European countries missing from that wall...

    >>Melissa B.
I've seen the movie several times but I can't remember how Casa looked in that film. I have to check out that one day!
We've planned already visits to other cities after we’ve settled in...

    >>lepis
Casa on yolla hiljainen. Eika paivan liikenne ole lahellakaan Kairon kaoottista meininkia.
Muutto reilun 20 miljoonan asukkaan kaupungista reiluun 3 miljoonan sekaan tuntuu inhimilliselta.
    Ja Atlantti naapurissa...aaah...
