EDITED version: your WOrds and my IMAges = WO*IMA #57

your WOrds of this IMAge #57:
Eggs from outer space,
when spring comes
something's going to borne...

Hail! Hail! The gang's all here!!

Snowballs in my lawn....

aw man...
what did you feed the birds this time? :)

As Bob dylan said: "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall."
We can hope not often, and as softly as a whisper.

Winter's attempt to sabotage spring

Grass: Ouch! ;-)

Gotta get my ping pong paddle...

"Did anyone see my golf ball?"

Oh! The sun is too bright,
What a great party last night!

I know you thought it best,
To empty the ice chest.

But please put it in the street,
and not right under my feet!

Ai! That's scary hail!

Cotton balls, soap bubbles, marshmallows, ice cream.
I can be one of each or each of one.
You get to pick.
As far as the grass, don't ask.

The Gods' frozen tears lay scattered on the ravaged Earth.

Mushrooms!

This is pure sh***** part 3.

Sorry if you're new here and wanted something more sexier or naughty or ugly...
No, this is pure SH***** = = = > S H A R I N G!

Sharing is the main issue in social media. You give and you get.
This is interaction.
More and more bloggers and companies are marketing or selling stuff. Lots of bloggers have giveaways to get more traffic, audience - and perhaps they want to sell something too. That fine by me.
But I'm not selling anything. This is PURE sharing!

Pure sh***** part 1. and here is Pure sh***** part 2.
You noticed my Twitter account was hacked. If you need any kind of help or information about Twitter check this out:

Maf Raederscheidt was the first one who asked if I sent to her a weird DM. No I did not. Thank you Maf being so quick and helpful!
Maf is an ARTIST.

Her motto is: A Painting a Day keeps the Doctor away!

"Every morning we get up, we grab our burden and start going. All the little duties that make our day are in these bags we have to carry. But you better keep your eyes open: all this will never cover the beauty that can be found around you.
Daily Painting about burden."

This painting Maf made for Weiberfastnacht, Women’s Carnival Day dedicated to all brave women in the world.

UPDATED! I've been hacked on Twitter!

I changed my password already.
What else can/should I do?

EDIT
Here's what you should know if YOU got DM from me asking "Is this you?"

It's NOT ME!!!!

So what should you do if you fall victim to a phishing scam turned social network worm? Be a friend and alert your contacts that messages posted are not actually from you. In general, the ABCs of proper etiquette after a normal social networking scam are:

* Acknowledge the attack to anyone who might have been adversely impacted;

* Be detailed: Tell them what message they might have received as a result of the malware/phishing and what might have happened as a result;

* Caution your contacts: Use this as an opportunity to remind everyone that just because they think a message comes from someone they know, there really is no way of telling for sure. If they ever do click a link that then leads to a login page or to a video codec install, they should close the page immediately and contact their friend via some other method to inquire (and possibly alert them) about the seemingly malicious link.

what women want...I'm single and want to leave Egypt!

what women want...I'm single and want to leave Egypt!
Previous what women want post is here

February 2010 issue of the What women want magazine
includes an article

There are many reasons why Egyptian women consider leaving Egypt:
- look for another job
- looking for better pay
- to escape society and its rules and restrictions
- to escape the pressures of society on women to get married
- adventure, to explore the world
The personal status of the women is usually either single or
divorced, as married women are
naturally tied to the fates of their husbands.

Popular destinations are:
Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, Canada, US and Australia.
Whether the woman is traveling  to the West or to the Gulf,
she breaks the chains handcuffing her by the society of Egypt.

The Gulf although have become more progressive than before,
and open to single women expatries living there,
still occasionally can be a little hars to a single Arab female expat
living there in comparison to a European female for example.

To conclude, the decision to leave Egypt or not, has to be thought carefully, after honestly sitting with oneself, and assessing one's priorities.
What's more important, my career or my social life?
Can I tolerate the constraining social rules of the Egyptian society for the sake of living near my family?
If I do travel, and decide to come back, will I be up to the consequences?
All these thought provoking questions have to be answered, before considering leaving Egypt.

* * *

Are you free to travel?

Are you free to study/work/live
wherever you want?

What have learned by
studying/working/living abroad?

Man - do you think that
"A woman's place is in the home"?

your WOrds of this IMAge #56:

You were hanging out with Vodka last night, I can tell!

OMG! You look bad? Are you alive or is there a corpse in my pool?

Yes, this definitely looks like a night of drinking gone bad.

I really think it's time for you to get out of the pool.
No, really. You're turning into a graisin.

"Hi, Granny!"
"Why so pale and wan, fair lady?"
"I felt fine until I looked in the mirror."

"My evil twin!"

Don't leave your clementines in the fridge too long!

Looking at the Sky on Friday in front of my dentist's practice...

May I introduce my dentist in Cairo - Dr. Amr Shabka
He is not just an ordinary dentist, but rather an artist! He is very gentle.
He never uses those creepy ‘irons’ which are used by dentists in Finland.
You know those metal strips which are screwed around the tooth and tightened so that the gum cracks!? Autch! I hate them!
No. Dr. Shabka whittles the fillings like an artist!
Thank you for the comfort of the treatment!
Dr. Amr Shabka

This tree is in front of Dr. Shabka's practice.
It's funny how the leafless tree can be so beautiful against the sky…
Do you agree?

susie's big adventure: Valentine's Day Massacre

susie's big adventure: Valentine's Day Massacre

You all should read this article...

EDITED version: your WOrds & my IMAges = WO*IMA #55

your WOrds of this IMAge #55:
Wearing a tie is not really my thing.

Brrrr...It's cold outside!

It is Valentine`s day and I thougt to surprice my wife
with dinner in the Chinese restaurant.
But has it happend something with my tie...???

Maybe if I wear this gigantic tie like a scarf no one will notice my nose job.

I've been waiting here for 3 hours for my date.
Can I take off my tie yet?

Untie your tie you teddy bear!

Single, cuddly and experienced seeking single female
to hibernate with.
Bonus points if you know how to tie a tie
and have no prejudices about missing noses.

Not only am I missing a nose,
but also both arms due to an auto accident.
I'm suing that SOB who ran into my BMW,
and just stepped out of the courtroom for a breather.

It's cold in Cairo and all I get to cover up is a tie.  ;)

Teddy, you have no mouth
So you have no words
I'll speak some words for you:
Happy Valentine's
And Happy New Year
Since you're all tied up
I'll kiss you!

The tie fashion changes...,
but this one is really too wide! :-)

I'd love to be your Valentine but I'm all tied up!

Bye, bye calories!!!

Yesterday Mary asked in her comment about walking sticks. They are not sticks, they are POLES. Sorry! :)

Background of Nordic Walking
Nordic Walking uses specifically designed poles to engage the upper body during fitness walking. Nordic Walking was first used as a summer training method by cross-country skiers.
It was then developed into a fitness exercise with specific training equipment in co-operation with the Finnish sports equipment manufacturer Exel Oyj, researchers in sports medicine, and other fitness professionals. Nordic Walking was first launched in Finland in 1997. It has rapidly increased in popularity and today Nordic Walking is well-known fitness sports.

Here's a very good video but it's quite long, 4 min 12 sec. BUT if you're interested it's worth the time to watch.

Health facts In Nordic Walking
Heart rate is 5-17 beats per minute higher (for example in normal walking heart rate is 130 beats/minute and in Nordic Walking 147 beats per minute i.e. increase is 13%)
Energy consumption increases when using poles by an average of 20% compared with ordinary walking without poles
Up to a 46% increase in energy consumption (Cooper Institute research, Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sports 2002 publication)
Releases pain and muscle tension in the neck/shoulder region
The lateral mobility of the neck and spine increases significantly
The muscles most actively involved are the forearm extensor and flexor muscles, the rear part of the shoulder muscles, the large pectoral muscles and the broad back muscles
Does not aggravate joints and knees
Reduces the load on knees and other joints
Consumes approximately 400 calories per hour!!!
(compared with 280 calories per hour for normal walking)
Nordic Walking should be practiced for relatively long periods, i.e. between half an hour and two hours at a time. The pace should be steady and the heart rate should rise to between 120 and 150 beats per minute.

If you're in a hurry
Original Nordic walking on uphill by Original Nordic walker Marko Kantaneva only 15 seconds!!! :)

If you're still interested here's a link to basic technique.

Imagine this:
The population of Finland is about
5,3 million and there are about
1,5 million Nordic walkers!!!
